Painter and calligrapher, Zhi Fang Liao is a master of the colorful southern Chinese style of painting known as Ling-nan. Mr. Liao graduated from Guangzhou Yangcheng Art School, studied with Li Rukuang, and further developed his talent with Professor Lee Yue Hong of Hong Kong University of Chinese Art, where he also studied seal carving and calligraphy.

Mr. Liao currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. His award-winning paintings have been exhibited in China, Singapore, and in New York at the Truewell Art Gallery, the Confucius Gallery, the Hammond Museum and the Salamagundi Club.

Mr. Liao has the distinction of being listed in Who’s Who in American Art. His painting “Peony with Birds” was selected from among thousands of entries by the Audubon Artists 69th Annual Juried Exhibit in 2011.

Mr Liao teaches at Maggie Studio in New York and in Westchester County at the Hammond Museum in North Salem, New York.
